Fancy Fingers

So I was painting my nails the other day and when I went to work, I realized that my nail colour was the exact same as one our bridesmaids colours. It is  super in right now and the colour of the season, Coral. I used Revlon’s nail enamel called “Perfectly Pink” and it looks just like David’s Bridal’s Coral Reef.

I think that it is a great idea for the Bride to paint her nails the same colour as her Bridesmaids dresses. This wouldn’t work for every wedding, it would depend on the style of the day. If it is a more formal wedding, the Bride might want to go with a classic french manicure. But for a fanciful themed wedding, this would definitly work!

I will keep my eye out for other colour matches! Keep posted :)

The Wedding Bell

When a Bride finds her perfect dress at David’s Bridal, we get her to participate in the “Ringing of the Bell” ceremony. She closes her eyes, makes a wish and rings the bell. Kinda cheesy, I know, but a lot of Brides love it!

Church bells would ring to let everybody know that a special event, like a wedding, had taken place. They were said to ward off evil spirits that would try to ruin the newlyweds happiness. From ringing the bells, it was said to bring good luck and fortune to the newly married couple.

Now, the bell is still a popular marriage symbol and is rung to celebrate the couple’s new life together.

Here are some ways to integrate bells into your big day; putting a bell graphic on your invitations or programs, hanging them at the ends of the pews for the ceremony, adding them to your reception centerpieces or hand them out to your guests to ring as you leave the reception onto the honeymoon.

Beautiful Bride

Right now I am on this huge health kick so, I have been watching what I eat and have been working out about twice a week. I have two tools that have been helping me and I wanted to let you in on my little secret!

There is this great app called “myfitnesspal” that I got for my iPad. You make a profile where you set your goal weight and decide how many times you are going to exercise each week. It then calculates how many carbs, calories, fat, protein, sugar and sodium you can intake each day in order to reach your goal. You can maintain a food log that will let you know if you went over on your daily limit of each nutrients consumed. If you can’t find the   type of food through the search engine, you can actually scan the bar code with the camera! So cool! I have found this very helpful to track what I eat and so far I have lost 5 pounds! Wooh wooh wooh! (One Direction reference)

I got this great little book from my local Winners called “How to be a Beautiful Bride” by Jacqui Ripley (And it was a steal cause I got it for $3!). It has a chapter all about fitness and good exercises that help you loose that extra bit of weight before the wedding day. I have found these exercises quite helpful and I think any “bulging bride” could benefit from them. Some of the tips highlighted in the book are; taking the stairs whenever you can for an all around butt and leg shaper, put on your favourite song and dance, walk in heels to train your legs to produce muscle and much more!
