Something Old, New, Borrowed and Blue.

Something old, something new
Something borrowed, something blue
And a silver sixpence in her shoe.

Every Bride strives to be able to say that they accomplished this. Getting something old, new, borrowed and blue. It simply means that you should have Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed and Something Blue at your Wedding. Doing all these things is said to bring you good luck. It can be anything! It could be something you as the bride wears, it could be something the groom wears. It could be something you have at the ceremony or reception. It’s really up to you!

Something Old : An example of something old, is when the Bride will wear an old family piece of jewelry or even a wedding dress that has been in the family and passed down for generations. If you were to do this, I suggest wearing the dress for the ceremony and then getting your own dress for the reception. The family dress would be too precious to chance getting ruined at the after party!

Something New: This could be anything new that you buy. Many brides use their dress as their something new. Your dress could be one of the most expensive things you buy for the Wedding so it should be noted as one of the more important things to showcase!

Something Borrowed : Like I said before, you could use an old family piece of jewelry. You could technically use the venue of the ceremony or reception as your something borrowed because you are only renting the place, you don’t own it!

Something Blue : For me this is easy! I want my Wedding’s colour scheme to be blue and gold so my something blue with be EVERYWHERE! But I want my Something Blue to be my shoes! I want to find blue, sparkly shoes for my special day! Most brides, will use their garter as their something blue. This is good for a colour scheme that blue would clash with because it is hidden under the Brides dress!
